Where Have I Been?!

Well, combine that teething baby with the "4 Month Wakeful Period", top it with her Christening on Sunday and that makes for not much sleep for a Mommy- or time to update the blog. Oh well. I did, however, get out of the house for a little while to take advantage of a few deals around. I had a successful trip at Target yesterday, minus some $.02 soap since I forgot to print the dang coupon. Guess I'll have to go back. :) All you serious couponers know that checkout can be a rather hasseling time. The checkout lady at Target yesterday was really nice. The guy behind me was amazed when all my coupons turned an $84 bill to $38. He held up his one coupon and said, "Well, you have me beat! I respect that." HaHa! No picture of my goods, today, but here's a rough breakdown of some worth-a-Target-trip deals:
Huggies Jumbo Pack- $8.99
Use $2/1 here (use zip 63366)
Use $1.50 Target coupon
= $5.49
Scotch Travel Lint Brush- $1.49
Use $1/1 coupon from 1/24 SS
= $.49
The Princess and the Frog DVD/Blue Ray Combo- $26.99
Use $10 coupon from here
Buy 2 BandAids (see below) and use this $5 rebate
= $11.99
**You can also use this rebate wyb Frog Tape, but it costs just as much as the $5 rebate. Not worth it to me.
BandAids- on sale $1.82 (must buy 2 for rebate)
Use $1 coupon from 1/3 RP or $.50 from 3/14 RP (I used this since I didn't have the 1/3)
Use 2 $1/1 Target coupons
= $1.14/2 boxes or $.57/box
GE Reveal Lightbulbs- on sale $2.14
Use $1/2 here (ugh! can't find the linkey, sorry)
Use 2 $1/1 Target coupons
= $.28 for 8 lightbulbs or $.04 per lightbulb!!!
Men's Gillette Body Wash- $3.54
Buy 2 and use $4/2 insert
= $3.08/2 or $1.54 each
Dove Deoderant- $3.64
Used $1 Catalina
Use $1.25 here
= $1.39
Starkist Tuna- on sale for $.94
Use $1/1 here
= $.06 Money Maker!
Dial NutriSkin Handsoad- $1.37 (didn't do this because I forgot my coupon, but it's worth another trip!)
Use the $.35 coupon from 3/7 RP
Print and use this $1/1 Target coupon
= $.02!!!!
Not too shabby.

Games and Coupons and Free Stuff, Oh My!

In just a few days, my little peanut has begun active teething. If it isn't in her mouth, she hasn't gotten her hands on it yet. Her gums have gotten really hard and I can tell things are moving in there. Poor little thing- they must hurt. I got maybe four hours of sleep last night. I had every intention of going on a little search for some deals out today, but I just didn't have power today. BUT that being said there are some really great things online that you must be sure to check out.

1. Kroger is having a "March to Savings". Play a little game everyday and win stuff! I was getting rather irritated because I have been playing it for a few days and haven't won anything. Yesterday I won a King Size Reeses (just forcing me to eat chocolate!) and today I won $5!! Wahoo! They load the coupon right to your Kroger card. How easy does it get?

2. I love love love Kirklands. I just can't wait to get our new house so I can fill it with more pretty stuff from here. Sign up for here for their emails and get a 20% off coupon. They send out lots of good coupons frequently as well. Yeessss.

3. Studio Movie Grill is having a promo for FREE movie tickets! Sign up before they stop! Who doesn't want to go to the movies for free? And you get get grown up drinks here while you enjoy your free movie. We'll be using this on double date night. :)

4. If you haven't heard of Babysteals.com you must head over there RIGHT. NOW. Every day at 10 am (Central time) they list a new deal. They have the most awesome, trendy stuff available from blankets, to babylegs (obsessed!), to shopping cart covers, and more. You have to make sure if you really want the item, though, you get it that second because quantities run out.

5. If you love Yankee Candles like I do, go here and get $10 off $25 purchase (which is one large candle). Ohhhh yeaaaa. My favorite is Home Sweet Home. What's yours?

Alright...enough for the night. Time for some more Tylenol for Miss M.

Saturday Savings

I have found a few deals this morning worth seeking out today:

Go to Wellness Daily, sign up for their emails and recieve a $5 rebate for any Jennie-O Turkey Store Product. I don't know about you, but we eat a lot of turkey in our house. It's a good, healthy alternative to beef and oh-so-yummy.

Sign up to be a fan of Wheat Thins on Facebook and recieve a coupon $1/1 box! You can eat these while making your turkey for dinner.

Free Udder Cover!

Not like my nursing friends need to feel any more like a cow, but Udder Covers is having a promo for "free" Udder Covers. All you have to do is pay shipping and handling ($9.95). Type in the code "Family2010" at checkout and it will take of $32 from you order. Even if you're not nursing, they make great gifts. I don't have an Udder Cover, but something similar and loooove it. I'm not one to pull my boob out in public or in front of friends and family, but a kid's gotta eat, right? :)

Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Mommyhood

Since moving back to Sugar Land, I have been overwhelmed with all the choices I have here. Not just other restaurants besides Chili's, Olive Garden, Logans, and Cracker Barrel, but other places to shop rather than WALMART! I have always been a couponing gal, but since we now have access to real grocery stores I am able to choose where I want to go and take advantage of great deals and such. With inspiration from my middle/high school friend Rachel (Check her frugaliciousness out here) I have decided to become a coupon queen too. Rachel, we need crowns or something... The effect of going from two incomes to one hasn't taken its full bite, yet, since we've been saving money rocking it at the 'rents right now. But I am determined to make our precious dollars stretch as far as they can go. And I must say, I get a nerdy thrill when I look at the bottom of a receipt and it says: You saved $16.54 or the other day at Kohl's it said "You Saved $83.30". Yeeessss. And to close my first blog post (which I'm sure no one is actually reading) I will brag on my cute little sweetness helping me cut out coupons (and by helping I mean staying asleep long enough so I can get stuff done, helping). Oh the life of a Stay at Home Mom.
